This study is now closed to enrollment. Dr. Bainbridge now offers this treatment to patients with chronic low back pain due to degenerative endplate changes, also called vertebrogenic pain.
The Intracept procedure is designed to ablate the basivertebral nerve within the vertebral bodies (bones) next to painful disc/bone end-plates in patients with chronic low back pain. This relieves back pain in well-selected patients using a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure. Go to www.Intracept.com for more information and videos.
The study results were published in the Spine Journal in 2019: “A Prospective, Randomized, Multi-Center Study of Intraosseous Basivertebral Nerve Ablation for the Treatment of Chronic Low Back Pain, The Spine Journal (2019), doi: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.spinee.2019.05.598”
