What is a Physical Therapist?

A physical therapist (PT) is a highly educated, licensed healthcare provider who specializes in helping people with their movement-related health. This includes reducing pain and improving and restoring mobility as well as function. Physical therapists treat people with a wide variety of conditions and have a range of specialty areas.

At the Denver Spine and Pain Institute, we work with patients who have spine issues, such as those with neck, back and sacroiliac joint pain, as well as patients with other orthopedic issues, including those with wrist, elbow or shoulder pain as well as hip, knee, ankle or foot pain. We also see patients with a wide variety of neurologic and other health conditions. We will help identify problems such as poor balance, muscle weakness, or range of motion limitations and work with you to maximize quality of life, pain reduction and prevent reoccurrence.

Physical therapists teach you how to decrease your pain, improve your function, rehabilitate problems with strength, range of motion, balance and more, as well as teach you how to prevent reoccurrence of your symptoms. At the Denver Spine and Pain Institute, our physical therapy team will:
