Manual therapy includes a wide variety of hands-on techniques to address restrictions in different areas of the body. As physical therapists, we use our hands to work with all tissues in the body, including muscles, connective tissues, joints and even nerves. For example, we may perform massage techniques to release tight muscles or trigger points as needed. We will also mobilize joints when we locate areas of restriction.
